AED Management
Survival AED, LLC is your full-service, one-stop LOCAL shop. We are an authorized distributor of AEDs and can either sell you a new AED or take over the management of your current AEDs to insure your machines are always ready while eliminating liability at the same time.
We can help you install a legally prescribed AED, write your policy, and then handle all of the required documentation and medical oversight to eliminate your liability. We are experts in the field and understand the medical and legal obligations that go along with having an AED in your home or workplace.
To avoid liability
There are a number of local, state and federal rules and regulations pertaining to AEDs. The California Civil Code states that a person or entity is NOT liable for any civil damages if specific laws and policies are followed. We, at Survival AED, make it simple for you to comply with the laws that protect you from liability.
To implement an AED program and meet the requirements of law, our company will:
• Provide a California licensed physician to be your medical director
• Write an emergency response system plan for your AED
• Make proper notifications to your local EMS agency
• Document monthly AED equipment compliance inspections
• Provide medical oversight and documentation following an AED event
Each AED must be checked at regular intervals, depending on the type of location. This compliance check requires that expired batteries and/or electrode pads are replaced if they are expired or not functioning. We will email your program designee in advance of the due date, asking him/her to confirm the compliance check was completed and that the batteries and pads are in compliance. For busy clients, we offer an optional onsite service in which we come to your location to perform the checks. Either way, we will keep a log of these compliance checks per state law.
Cost
Our AED program is a straight-forward membership with no startup, early termination or other hidden fees. The cost is $150 per year, per AED machine. For busy clients, we do have an option service in which we come to your location and handle all inspections, function tests and re-supply.
